Case 01 · Collision damage mapping
Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide ST: damage mapped before decisions.
A high-spec touring motorcycle does not support a shortcut estimate. This photographed inspection records separate impact points across the controls, exhaust, luggage bodywork, protection hardware, and rear structure so the repair conversation can start with evidence.

Why this CVO required a system-level inspection.
The CVO Road Glide ST combines premium painted surfaces, touring luggage, performance hardware, integrated electronics, and model-specific trim. A photograph of the most obvious scrape would not describe the complete repair problem. Vision Performance organized the condition by zone: rider contact points, protection equipment, exhaust, luggage, rear supports, wheel-area clearances, and the relationship between removed panels and hidden attachment points. The result is a repair-side record that distinguishes visible cosmetic evidence from the areas that still require measurement, disassembly, or functional checks.
Protect the exact trim
The CVO ST identity affects finishes, graphics, hardware, performance components, part numbers, and value documentation. The case is described at the exact model level instead of being reduced to a generic Harley touring estimate.
Follow the impact path
Marked damage appears at the hand control or guard, protection components, exhaust canister, luggage surfaces, and rear support area. Recording each point helps prevent a single visible scrape from becoming the entire estimate.
Inspect behind bodywork
Saddlebag and rear-support geometry, mounts, brackets, fasteners, electrical routing, and clearances can carry force without showing the same surface damage as painted panels. Those items belong in the inspection plan even when a photograph cannot prove replacement.
Separate fact from recommendation
The photo file shows condition. Measurements, functional tests, OEM procedures, part availability, refinishing requirements, and owner authorization determine the eventual repair plan. Keeping those stages separate makes the file easier to review.
Treat CVO appearance as a system
Paint, graphics, adjacent-panel color, gloss, edge condition, hardware, and installed accessories must be considered together. A premium touring motorcycle can look inconsistent even when every individual replacement part is technically correct.
Build a reviewable estimate
A useful collision file connects each line item to a location, photograph, inspection note, or procedure. That structure supports supplements when disassembly reveals additional damage without pretending that every finding was visible on day one.
Photographic evidence from the project.
These images were selected from the Vision Performance project file. VIN photographs and readable license-plate photographs are intentionally excluded from the public case study.

Case boundary
This page documents photographed condition and the inspection logic used to develop repair scope. It does not state that every photographed item was approved, repaired, or replaced, and it does not determine insurance coverage, fault, settlement value, or final vehicle safety. Those conclusions require the applicable authorization, procedures, measurements, and completed quality-control record.
